Our jewellery is designed and made in the UK from solid sterling silver which is 925 purity. Our pieces are cast in sterling silver and then plated in 18ct gold in the world famous jewellery quarter Birmingham. Gold vermeil jewellery is 18ct gold plated on sterling silver. This differentiates it from cheaper gold plated jewellery which has a brass base and is often only flash plated with 0.5 micron rather than 2.5-3 micron plating. We hallmark our lockets in Birmingham and Edinburgh using our Lime Tree Design hallmark, so you can be confident of its quality.
Our necklaces are designed by us in our rural Nottinghamshire studio and are often inspired by the countryside and colours around us. The original pieces are sculpted and then cast in our studio. Once we are happy with the original it goes out for production casting in small workshops in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and plating if needed and then comes back to us for finishing and turning into the final pieces.
All silver will tarnish over time especially if exposed to light and moisture – we can supply a silver cleaning cloth to help with this. We do not recommend using silver dip but prefer silver wadding or a silver cloth. Gold vermeil is a surface treatment and will wear over time – We suggest avoiding getting perfumes and lotions like sunscreen on your jewellery. Do not use metal cleaning cloths for gold vermeil but buff gently with cotton microfibre cloth if needed. We do provide a re-plating service if required.
Our chains are all solid silver and again 18ct gold vermeil. They are made in Italy by a family firm who have been making the finest quality chains for generations. We can supply different lengths of chain if wanted. Additional chains can be purchased individually
Our jewellery is not suitable for children under 5 years old due to choking hazard and whilst cute our charms are not toys!
